Trampoline Games
Trampolines have become so popular, that they were added as a competitive sport beginning with the 2000 Olympic Games. The routines performed include jumps, pikes, somersaults, and twists that offer an amazing performance. There are a total of 10 combinations that can be performed on the trampoline, but at the end of the routine the individual must land on their feet.
Not all trampoline games are as competitive as the Olympic Games, but they can be very fun. The game of Slamball involves moves that are in ice hockey and basketball with a trampoline thrown into the mix. Four people and four floor trampolines are needed to play the game properly. Two padded basketball rims and backboards are placed on each end of the trampolines. With two players on each team the goal is to score as many hoops as possible. Slam dunks are quite exciting as even short players can bounce high enough on the trampoline to score big points this way.
Today Slamball has become the most popular trampoline game out there. Ironically it has been featured in futuristic movies including Back to the Future II and Star Wars as a common sport in that time period. It became a very trendy sport in 2000 and today more than 400 people play it professionally. Many of the games are featured on sports programs including ESPN.
Sports are very common trampoline games. In addition to Slamball many people enjoy playing football and tennis. Younger children enjoy playing traditional games with a new twist including tag, dodge ball, and ring around the rosie. Of course their imaginations are so large that they create a variety of games on their own to participate in while playing on the trampoline.
Extreme sports are popular with older children, and adding them with a trampoline gives them the opportunity to perform some amazing feats including skateboarding tricks and even snowboarding. These types of trampoline games often involve a great deal of risk though so be careful with surrounding objects that can be harmful.
Trampoline games allow people of all ages to enjoy this device while having such a good time playing they don’t realize the amount of exercise they are actually getting in the process. This is a great item to have in your yard as children will be pulled away from TV and video games to go play games on the trampoline instead.
