Preschool Crafts
Learning to cut with scissors is something that is practiced often in preschool. Cutting out shapes and designs that can be glued onto colored paper may sound easy to an adult but it is a challenge when you haven’t done it before. They use some very creative objects to make crafts in preschool too.
If your child is enrolled in a preschool program you may be asked to donate various types of household items for their projects. They often include frozen orange juice cans, milk jugs, paper towel rolls, and toilet paper rolls. Sometimes parents are asked to volunteer their time to help with preschool crafts. This can be a great way for you to get involved with your child’s classroom and to have some fun too. Pay attention to how the children pitch in to clean up after the craft is finished so you can get them to do it at home as well.
Preschool age children always seem to make wonderful crafts for the various holidays as well. It is really fun to see their creative sides emerge in the different craft projects that they take part in. The fact that they get to come home and share the experience with you is something you will both cherish. Hang their crafts on the refrigerator and in other areas of the home so they can proudly show them off when you have guests.
Children grow up very quickly so develop a safe place to keep their preschool crafts. It can be great fun to look back on them over the years. I still have the handprint molds all three of my children made while they were in preschool. Their books of early handwriting from them are very special too as they write very creative stories at that age even though the spelling isn’t terrific.
