Knitting Baby Clothes
Knitting baby clothes does not have to be difficult. If you are a beginner knitter, do not be intimidated by the intricate decorative patterns found on some baby clothes and blankets. You can still knit beautiful and useful baby clothes that will be treasured by everyone with just a simple knit and perl stitch.
The great thing about knitting baby clothes, especially if you do not have much time, is that they are so small, that you can complete articles of clothing in a fraction of the time that it would take you to complete, say, an oversized sweater for a full-grown adult. Baby socks and booties and mittens are especially quick and easy, and require a basic knowledge of knitting. There is probably more time spent in casting on and off in these projects than in actual knitting!
Knitting baby clothes is also incredibly useful to the baby because there is nothing warmer than knitted clothing. It is a great way to keep a newborn baby warm and cozy no matter what the season is. There is also something nice about a new baby wearing baby clothes that were made with love by someone who knows and cares about them, rather than just being manufactured in a factory halfway across the world.
If you are considering knitting baby clothes, but don't know anything about knitting, consider taking a class or tutorial. You may be surprised at how much you learn about knitting in a short amount of time, and if the baby is not due for awhile, you may be able to churn out a lot of baby clothes even if at the moment you don't even know how to knit!
