Feminism & Homemaking
At the same time they wanted to be able to instill the belief that woman can do much more than that. Today women are found in all aspects of the work force. Now they get criticized for not being good parents and good role models for their children. They get accused of putting their career before their families.
At the same time, feminism has taken on the concept that men should be responsible for domestic duties as well. A woman shouldn’t work all day and then have to take care of everything at home as well. This means that many families have ended up restructuring their roles in the home.
There are more male homemakers in society today than ever before. This is due to the high education opportunities and careers that some women have. Society is also beginning to understand that males can be good at nurturing their children, cooking, and meeting all of the various needs of a family.
It seems that when it comes to homemaking, feminism has made it more difficult. They have led women to think they need it all, and then leave them wondering how they will accomplish it. Women aren’t robots and they have the same amount of time in the day that everyone else does.
A person would do better to pay attention to the needs of their family rather than the talk of feminist groups. A family knows better than anyone else if a woman should be in the home or in the work place. Sometimes it is a personal choice and other times it is based on financial need for the household. The fact that a woman works or doesn’t work though doesn’t define who she is.
