You will find some ski helmets have a liner that will help keep your warmer. If you want one with this feature you will need to add another inch to the measurement in order to prevent it from being too tight.

If you already have a pair of ski goggles it is a good idea to take them with you when you try on ski helmets. This way you can make sure the two are a good fit together. If you don’t have goggles already then buy them at the same time you are shopping for a hat. This will eliminate trouble for you later on.
