German Shephards
But that does not mean that they are a bad pet or will attack everyone you see. If you were to encounter a German shepherd on the street with their owner, the likelihood that they will want you to pet them is very high. They want attention, and they want to be loved. So then why do so many of them seem to attack randomly? Well they are loyal so if they perceive that their family is going to be harmed, they will lash out. There are other German shepherds that you will need to look out for. These are the dogs that the law enforcement tends to use to help sniff for bombs, drugs, and act as a partner that is trained to fight. Even those dogs, however, could have a soft spot. But sudden movements and loud noises could be perceived as threatening so you need to be careful.
If you want to find a German shepherd as a companion and a guard dog, your best bet is to find a breeder that has a great reputation. These will likely produce dogs that have great personalities and are not bred to be overly aggressive, unless they need to be aggressive. In order to find a dog that agrees with you and your family, all members of the family should visit the breeder to make sure that they respond well to everyone. Then, they need to be well trained. Remember to care for them as a loving pet, and they will protect you without threatening those around you.
