Self Forgiveness
Self forgiveness doesn’t mean that you blow off the situation and that you don’t learn from it. Instead, it means you take responsibility for your actions and you work hard to make them right. It is important that you try to talk to everyone involved that you may have hurt by your actions. This can be in person, on the phone, or even sending them a letter telling them how you feel.
Having resentment and anger towards yourself can cause self destruction. You may find you sabotage positive things that come your way. You may feel like you don’t deserve them so you do all you can to remove them from your grasp. This can be a romantic relationship, a friendship, or even a great job.
When you feel so negative towards yourself, you may think that is the same impression others have of you. When you seen people whispering you assume it is about you. Avoiding friends and family members is common because you may think they couldn’t possibly want to be around you.
It is important to learn to love yourself, and this means you have to accept your faults too. Of course it doesn’t mean you can’t work hard to make changes so you will like yourself better. Taking the time to be honest with yourself is difficult but it can help you to live a happy and healthy lifestyle that you have been desperately hoping for.
Self forgiveness isn’t always easy and you may need help to do it. Counseling is a good option for many people. Chances are some of the things you are blaming yourself for aren’t even your fault. Learning to accept the choices you have made and working hard to do better in the future is all you can do. Accepting what has happened and forgiving yourself is the only way you can move forward and start enjoying your life again.
