NFL Football
The National Football League, known as the NFL, was implemented in 1922. It is sport that draws thousands of fans to the stadium and millions of viewers on TV. There are thirty two teams in the NFL and most football fans have one they cheer during the season. Games are generally played on Sundays but there is also Monday night and Thursday night football.
Each team will play a total of sixteen regular season games against others in their divisions and conference. At the end of the regular season those teams with the top records will go on to battle it out for the playoffs. Two teams will go for the Super Bowl title either the end of January or the first part of February.
Players are selected by the various NFL teams through a draft. There are scouts for the various teams that are always on the look out for the best players they can recruit. Many of them end up with contracts for unbelievable amounts of money for the season. Some of them continue to be free agents instead of committing to one team so the can seek out the best career moves.
Yet to the players of the NFL this is much more than just a football game. We only see a small portion of what they do during the course of the game. They spend countless hours working out, training, learning plays, and implementing strategies that will help the win games.
The NFL is responsible for the rules and regulations that will take place during games. They make changes as necessary for the betterment of the NFL. A couple of changes haven’t sat well with viewers or players though. For example the one quarter of overtime play. The first team to score in overtime wins the game but if no one scores in that extra period it is considered to be a tie game.
The New England Patriots made history during the 2007-2008 season. They became only the second team in NFL history to go undefeated for the entire regular season. They have also won all of their playoff games so far. There are many people that believe they have an excellent shot of also winning all of their playoff games and the Super Bowl.
