Hansel & Gretel
Since the children are very poor they are amazed when the come across a gingerbread house that is made from all the goodies you can imagine. Without hesitating the start helping themselves to the delicious treats. They are afraid when an old woman comes out of the home but instead of scolding them they are encouraged to come inside for a hot meal. They soon learn this old woman isn’t as kind as she seems though. She is really a witch set on fattening them up and eating them.
The children quickly decide they must work together if they are going to get out of there alive. The witch makes Hansel eat all day long while she makes Gretel clean for her and take care of various chores. The witch asks Gretel to climb into the oven to see if it is hot enough but she pretends she doesn’t know how. The witch becomes angry and tells her she will show her how. As she does Gretel shoves the witch and shuts the oven door. She is able to release Hansel and the search for their way home. Not before helping themselves to some delicious foods though.
As they are wondering around the woods to find their way home they hear a familiar voice. It is their father who has never stopped searching for them. Once he found out what the stepmother had done he made her leave the home and set out to find the children. Hansel and Gretel have some precious gems in their pockets that they took from the gingerbread house so the family no longer has to live in poverty. The three of them live happily ever after.
