Earth Day Celebrations
Many local areas make their own Earth Day celebrations as well. It can be on a very small scale at a daycare center or a school. Children of all ages can learn about the Earth and how to protect it. Communities can hold larger events that will offer the same types of awareness to entire families and all the members of the area. College campuses are a great place for such celebrations to take place as well.
Try to implement some creative ideas to help celebrate as well. For example you can have a day where people ride their bikes to work instead of driving their cars. Earth Day celebrations can be a huge hit if you are setting examples of easy yet effective ways to help ensure a quality Earth will be here down the road for people to enjoy.
There have been some criticisms of Earth day celebrations though. Many claim that they have gotten away from the true meaning behind the events. Like so many holidays and other occasions it has become nothing but a commercial day for retailers to make money. There have been movements to end Earth Day celebrations that take place for this reason. Yet others argue this large scale event is a great way to implement changes due to awareness that people will gain from them.
If you can't attend an Earth Day celebration in person, you can watch activities taking place live on TV. You can also get a live stream to your computer in most areas. With the use of satellite systems, you will be able to see events that are taking place in locations all over the world. Pieces of each of them will be broadcast and this is a great way for you to take part in the Earth Day celebrations this year.
