Car Stereo Equipment
The first thing you will need is an excellent receiver. Ideally you want to get a CD player / MP3 player and you also want it to be satellite radio ready. Even if you don't have satellite radio now, or even want to, you may want to have it down the road, so make sure you have it if for no other reason than to increase the vehicle's resale value.
You want to make sure that the receiver has pre amp outputs so that you can run a sub and an amp or possibly even a couple of amps. You also want to make sure that the receiver has a remote so that you can run it from outside of the car if you so choose. Ideally it will also have a remote that has the capability of mounting to the steering wheel, so that you can browse for music and adjust the sound without having to take your hands off the wheel and distract you while driving.
You want to make sure that the receiver has different colored displays so that you can adjust it to match whatever displays your car currently has. And you also want it to be able to change the dials on the amp from inside the car. You want it to be able to do that.
Other components of car stereo equipment are amps. Ideally you want to get a four channel amps so that you can run mids or tweeters. Mids and tweeters are speakers. You will also need a really great sub woofer. When you are shopping for a sub woofer, make sure you get a box that is of high quality. If the box is no good, the sound is going to be poor no matter what the sub woofer itself is like.
