ROTC
This is a college level program that teaches potential candidates about leaderships, planning, and ethics so that they can have a successful career in the military. Many students in the ROTC program compete for very good scholarships to the college of their choice. They will get their tuition, room, and board covered for the entire four years as long as they stay in the program and they keep their grades in the top of the program.
There are several military colleges around the United States where the ROTC program has dominated those in attendance. The top six are known as Military Academy’s and they require all students to be in the ROTC program for a minimum of two years. Civilian colleges may have the ROTC program offered by it is classified as a regular college or university.
It is not uncommon for high school students to become involved in the JROTC which is the same concept but at their level. Most communities have local recruiters for the military in their area. They may come to the local high school and tell the student body about the JROTC program. For those considering a career in the military, this can help them to decide if it is something they want to pursue or not.
Statistics show students involved in the ROTC programs often do very well in the military. They go into it knowing what is expected and willing to do it. They also have a higher completion rate with the boot camp. This is because they have already been in training both physically and mentally for the military. They aren’t going into boot camp with unrealistic expectations of what they will find there.
