Women Authors
Probably the most recognized woman author around the world these days is J.K. Rawlings, author of the Harry Potter series. It seems that each time a new book is due out there are more problems. Secret manuscripts and even secrets from the book end up on the internet and this information can ruin the entire book for those that haven’t read it yet.
The latest rumors include the issue that someone will die in the next book, which will be the last in the Harry Potter series. Tons of fans sent letters to Rawlings begging her not to kill of the central character of Potter in the book. While she isn’t revealing the secret of what will take place, you can be sure millions of copies of it will sell the minute it is released.
Romance novels are very popular with the women who read books, and who better to write them than a woman! Jackie Collins recently released her 25th novel and it is selling faster than anyone could have anticipated. She has quite a following and women from all over the world eagerly anticipate her novels when they come out. She is often the author featured at various book clubs too.
Of course it takes authors much longer to write these novels than it does for readers to finish them. While her latest novel called “Drop Dead Beautiful” was just released her fans are already demanding another. She has revealed she has one in the works that should be out in June of 2008 which hasn’t been named yet.
Series books are always popular for fans that can’t get enough of various characters. The woman that did it the best was V.C. Andrews. Her “Flowers in the Attic” series that tells the story of four children hidden away from the world in a mansion is still a favorite though it has been on the market for more than 20 years. There are several books in the series that explore the lives of the children and the series of events that lead to them being prisoners in the attic.
