You may want to be part of an archeology team. This way you will have an ongoing job. There is plenty that goes on behind the scenes before the actual excavating can take place. The amount of money that you can make with an archaeology job depends on what your role in it is. For the most part you can expect to make a decent living. Keep in mind that paying for the process of surveying, excavating, and classifying is very expensive. All of those costs have to be factored in and you can be your salary will reflect it.
This isn’t the type of job though that you will find to be boring and routine. There are parts of it that you may not find exciting, but the adventures will be something to look forward to. Imagine being on site when a huge discovery is made that is going to make history.
